About Pastor Geno

History

Geno & Vivien Quiroz

Geno and Vivien Quiroz have been married since 2007 and have two boys; Eugene Jr & Emilio. Geno surrendered his life to Jesus in 2003 and started getting involved in ministry while attending Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara & Reality Carpinteria between 2003-2007.

Then in early 2007, Geno and Vivien were called to move from Santa Barbara, CA. to Watsonville, CA. where they both would spend the greater part of 5 years as full-time missionaries serving at Teen Challenge Monterey Bay. It was there, while also serving at Calvary Chapel Watsonville, that Geno was ordained as a Calvary Chapel Pastor.

In 2012 they felt led to move to Marina, CA. Shortly after that transition, Geno was invited to join the pastoral team at Connect Los Banos which was the result of a merger between Calvary Chapel Los Banos and Connections Christians Church. Around that same time, Geno joined the Board of Directors for the brand new church plant, Westside Community (in Santa Cruz) as a church elder to help them navigate the waters of becoming their own entity/501c3.

In November of 2017, Geno & Vivien both knew God was calling them to start a new work in Marina, starting in their home. Since November 21, 2017, people have been meeting in their home every Tuesday evening at 6:00pm for a time of prayer, fellowship and bible study.

Teaching Style

Pastor Geno places great emphasis on the exposition of Scripture and teaching the entire Bible chapter-by-chapter and verse-by-verse. His method of teaching is solidly expositional, following the Inductive Method of Observation, Interpretation, and Application.

Passions

Geno is passionate about Jesus, family, building community, and sharing the Word of God. Since moving to Marina, God has been giving Geno an even greater passion for the people of Marina, and for equipping the local saints for ministry.

He also enjoys spending time hanging out with friends, building websites, and encouraging other believers.
