We are here to give glory to God, and declare His praise in the coastlands. Our desire is that we may know Christ more and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.
” Let them give glory to the Lord, And declare His praise in the coastlands” – Isaiah 42:12 NKJV
God has given us a passion for the community of Marina, and a desire to share the love of Jesus Christ. We will do this through prayer, by loving others, teaching through the Word of God, gathering together regularly as the local church, and reaching out to serve our community.
“…that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. ” – Colossians 2:2-3 NKJV
Who we are and what we do as Connect Marina can best be understood through the paradigm of Theological, Missional, Relational.
We desire to allow God to lead His people through His Word! This is accomplished by placing a priority on the study of His word and through prayer. We believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, that the Bible, Old and New Testaments, in the original autographs, is the inspired, infallible Word of God, a complete and final written revelation of God. We want to build up disciples of Jesus by teaching the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter.
We desire to be a people that are on mission for Jesus Christ 24/7. Amongst our neighbors, family and throughout our community. We believe we are all called to be on mission. Mission is not to be seen as merely an activity of the church, but rather an attribute of God. All mission is God’s mission and we are invited into that mission. Missional minded believers are simply followers of Jesus ministering to the communities to which they have been placed.
We desire to be a people that are relational throughout the community of believers in other churches both within our community and throughout the neighboring communities. God exists as a loving community. Part of what it means to be created in the image of God is that we are made for relationship and community. As the church, we are to be intentional about loving God and loving others in a way that exposes and explains to the world who God is. We believe we are all one body and by our love for one another, the community will see Jesus.
